Keep reports useful across a shared property
For a Jackson Heights co-op, rental or other shared building, record the affected room and whether similar evidence has been reported elsewhere. Keep individual observations separate from assumptions. The person managing the building can help arrange access where more than one occupied space is involved.
Describe evidence around beds and belongings
If the concern involves bedding or upholstered furniture, explain what you actually found: a live insect, spotting, shed material or another change. Bites alone do not establish bed bugs. Ask for preparation instructions before moving belongings or clearing rooms for proposed work.
Should I contact management before asking about a visit?
If shared rooms, multiple apartments or restricted spaces may be involved, tell the responsible building contact. You can still contact Swift with your own observations and explain which access arrangements remain to be made.
